If this guy really thinks that Frost is less on the hot seat than O, there’s nothing you can tell him. Nebraska looked atrocious against Bielema and the Illini. That is an obvious, easy hot seat. Much clearer than the picture at LSU.
I guess it was a little less than 82%. I knew this kid wouldn't stay committed because of that comment alone.
I disagree with you, buddy. I think it's probably small enough that it doesn't demand an explanation. I think if it was something truly bad, it inevitably would have made headlines by now. Just my thoughts, though.
I think it's more complicated than that. The spread is something that is much more diverse than just a guy that can pass and run. The term "spread" now more adequately describes a mentality than an actual scheme. You can have a pro-style spread with a pure pocket passer (see Auburn, 2015), and you can have a spread based entirely off of the run. Then there are spreads that do both very well, almost like they're built to exclusively do one or the other (see Houston, 2016). It's a complex situation at LSU, because O is deciding which of these iterations of the spread he wants to run/recruit to. At the same time, he's having to think farther ahead than his next hire, trying to recruit to a particular coach that he hasn't even been able to acquire yet. And while people believe Kiffin is the only choice, I just think that he is the most sensible option from a media standpoint in regards to Orgeron's staff. Myles could be quite successful in a particular type of spread offense. Not the one, say Nick Marshall ran, but maybe something more balanced. Just a short novel to complicate the article.
Maybe, but I think he's showed his hand at 'Bama. People now know how good he is at a school with premiere talent, and people now know how good Jalen is. Should he decide to be a head coach somewhere, he could cut to the chase. Otherwise, I see LSU as an even bigger proposition for his reputation. Only for the sole fact that LSU has never been an offensive-minded school. Speaking hypothetically, should he go to LSU and do what he's done at Bama, considering where LSU has been offensively for decades now, he would answer everyone's questions about whether he is a worthy hire or not.
Yeah, I getcha. The only reason I think that he may not go to LSU are the other intriguing openings at the HC position at schools that are a little more historically his "style." Houston, Oregon, more to come... It'll certainly be fun to find out though!
Wouldn't it be interesting to see Miles at Houston, though? I'd be thoroughly intrigued by that situation.
Dave, I agree with you in part. But I think you need to calm down and assess the situation. There are like four LSU fans that read all of these articles. LSUMC is one, and although I don't comment often, I read every single one. Relax, bud. You're not doing much in the way of convincing the entire LSU fan base that they are morons. Some people are optimistic about Kiffin going to LSU (although I don't know how likely it is, it is technically a sensible possibility). I'm just interested to see how it turns out. Have a great Friday, and do your best to relax.
This guy was obviously under the influence in writing this article.
My point in commenting on this article was to point out that one 100 yard game couldn't possibly outweigh what Fournette has done all season. Henry is a great back, but he's no Fournette. I think anyone without really thick Crimson glasses would agree.
Saying Alabama is going to win, fine. I can respect that. But to say that Henry will eclipse what Fournette has done in one game? You've lost every ounce of credibility you had, if you had any to begin with. Just walk away from the keyboard, home slice. You're done for a while.
Well, at least we know that Jeremy Johnson didn't throw it.
