Everyone is missing the point. UCF - and any worthy so-called ‘G5’ team - deserves a shot. Why not? The main reasons most UCF fans aren’t ‘cowering under the criticism’ are: - We (yes, I’m one) aren’t going away. Over 200K alumni and growing by 10+ a year. - 65,000 enrollment and growing. - Located wiling a major metro area and on a corridor of over 8M population. - THE largest recruiting pool in the country. YES, we scheudle P5 (we called it P6) teams all the time for non-conference. We’ve DONE The pure road show for years. We don’t have th 40M a year like many,MANY non-worthy major schools do and do practically NOTHING with, beyond sucking the teat of that membership (Kansas, K. St, Baylor, Vanderbilt, Wake, Duke, Iowa St., Indiana, Illinois, etc). If we only had HALF that money, forget about it. We have to have 6-7 home games a year in order to make all athletics float. We’ve only been around 50 years (38 for football) and yet have tons of notable wins, including two major bowls in the past 5 years. No way we are going away. Deal with it morons. . .

The SOS is such bull———-. Schedules are made years in advance, not on a whim. There have been tons of requests by UCF to pretty much the lions share of major schools, and most calls do not get returned. We’ve also done the road show for YEARS, winning a few, taking the paycheck, but no return date. In 2012 we even played Herbies Ohio St squad and fared pretty well. Played Michigan two years ago. Won at Penn St in 2013. Won at Bama way back. But again, outside of PSU, no one schedules a home and home, with lone exceptions of half the ACC, with Ga Tech, UNC, MD and NC St in the past. We have Stanford coming next year. AAC also has 3 ranked teams this year. Oh, and we kicked the crap out of Pitt who ND ‘had a gutsy comeback win (comment from an ESPN personality)’. Total crap. In reality, they are scared witless that we do indeed get into a major conference, as once we get that 30-40M, it’s game over, dudes . . OVER. And they know it . . .
