College GameDay is live from Gainesville, Florida, Saturday morning for the Auburn-Florida game. The matchup pits two top 10 teams, both with excellent defenses and efficient quarterback play.
When the show kicked off at 9:00 a.m. ET, Rece Davis, the host of the pregame show, announced that Florida legendary running back Emmitt Smith would be the guest picker. Smith is a football legend, regardless of level.
That shouldn’t be that big of a surprise, because Emmitt’s son, EJ, is taking an official visit to Florida this weekend. Smith is a 4-star prospect and is ranked as the nation’s No. 4 all-purpose running back, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Right now, Smith is ranked as the nation’s No. 120 overall prospect for the 2020 recruiting class. Along with Florida, Smith is considering Georgia, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Stanford, among others.
Emmitt will join Desmond Howard, Rece Davis, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit in the 11:00 a.m. hour to make his Saturday predictions.
