A native of Beloeil, Quebec, Canada, Rioux was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the “tallest teenager living (male)” in the 2022 edition of the book. On3 rates Rioux 3-stars and the No. 147 prospect overall in the Class of 2024, listing his weight at 275 pounds. Rioux is not rated by the other major recruiting sites. He chose Florida over other scholarship offers from Stetson and Florida Atlantic.
Rioux is Florida’s second commitment in the 2024 recruiting class. He joins Isaiah Brown, a 6-4, 170-pound shooting guard out of Orlando Christian Prep in Florida. Brown signed with UF on Wednesday.
Golden is currently in his second season as the Gators’ head coach. Florida won its season opener 93-73 over Loyola Maryland on Monday. UF heads to Charlotte on Friday to face Virginia as part of the Hall of Fame Series.
