Paul Finebaum has his eyes set on the Cocktail Party as a true make-or-break game for Florida following a blowout loss at Kentucky.
“If you play the schedule game for a second, you’ve got 2 losses already,” Finebaum said on “The Matt Barrie Show”. “Back end of the schedule has Florida State and Georgia. Just for starters. And at LSU. So if you’re doing the math, the games against Missouri and South Carolina … are going to determine their season. And I haven’t seen much from this team.”
The Gators started the season with a loss to Utah, but 3 wins in a row against McNeese State, Tennessee, and Charlotte appeared to get things somewhat on track. But a defeat at the Wildcats, where they surrendered 329 rushing yards, has them back to square 1 with games against Vanderbilt and South Carolina remaining before the annual contest against the Bulldogs in Jacksonville on Oct. 28.
“They’ve got a fairly comfortable path into Georgia but that’s going to be a defining game. The tone and tenor of it. Because the season could end very badly for them,” Finebaum said.
