Jack Miller III, Florida’s second string quarterback behind starter Anthony Richardson, is nursing a thumb injury that will require surgery, taking away a backup option for the Gators moving forward, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
It should be noted Richardson has seen injury problems of his own in the past. He missed 5 total games in 2021 with various knee and hamstring injuries.
Miller, a Class of 2020 4-star prospect, was originally committed to Ohio State before transferring to Gainesville at the start of the spring semester of 2022.
Next in line at QB for the Gators will be redshirt freshman Jalen Kitna or true freshman Max Brown, both of which are searching for their first collegiate action.
