Tim Tebow reflected on some fond memories from playing Kentucky while at Florida.
The Florida-Kentucky rivalry is not one that is talked about a lot in college football. Tebow recalled some good memories from the rivalry with SEC Nation in Lexington for Week 5.
Kentucky beat Florida for the first time since 1986 during the 2018 season. One of Tebow’s best memories of keeping that streak alive was Chris Doering’s touchdown catch from Danny Wuerffel.
“I know the streak went for a long time and there were a lot of fans here that were grateful when that ended. I can remember the games back in the day. I remember Chris Doering’s touchdown from Danny Wuerffel to keep that streak alive. Every game that I played here was very competitive. One got a little out of hand, but the rest were competitive. My sophmore year I played here and that was such an amazing game. Then a couple weeks later Kentucky beat LSU, who won the national championship. There’s been a lot of great games.”

Tebow then credited head coach Mark Stoops. Tebow believes Stoops has done an incredible job.
“I think he’s done an amazing job. If you look at the consistency throughout his time here, how fundamentally sound,” said Tebow. “They know their identity and who they are. They stop the run; I think they’re the number one team in the SEC in stopping the run.”
