Florida State only FBS school with embarrassing offensive stat

Florida State has had a brutal 2024 season, as the Seminoles are 1-6 after their incredible 13-1 season last year. There have been many reasons why Mike Norvell’s team has struggled, but the offense is as big of reason as any.

Through the first 7 games, the Seminoles have scored only 105 points, which comes out to 15 PPG.  That ranks 128th out of 133rd, and is the worst for any Power 5 conference.

The most points they have scored in a game this year was in the season-opening loss to Georgia Tech, when they scored 21. To put that into perspective, they are the only FBS school to not score more than 21 in any game.

DJ Uiagalelei was brought in the off-season with the hopes of replicating the success that Jordan Travis had last season, but that didn’t happen. Uiagalelei could never find his rhythm, and he is now out for the remainder of the season with a broken finger.

The schedule gets a lot tougher, as the Seminoles face 2 ranked teams in the next 3 games. Up first is in-state rival Miami, who is currently undefeated. However, there could be a chance for Florida State to get over 21 points, as the Hurricanes have given up at least 34 points in each of their last 3 games.
