Mike Norvell speaks to ‘tremendous interest’ in vacant Florida State coordinator positions
Mike Norvell met with reporters in Tallahassee on Monday afternoon for his weekly press conference.
With Florida State’s 2024 season mercifully coming to a close in a couple of weeks, Norvell announced on Sunday that the program has parted ways with offensive coordinator Alex Atkins, defensive coordinator Adam Fuller and one other assistant coach.
While speaking with reporters on Monday, Norvell outlined some details of how he expects the search to go for their replacements.
He identified Dec. 1 as an ideal day to have the hires made. Norvell also indicated there’s been “tremendous interest” from coaches at both the collegiate and NFL levels.
“Even in a very short period of time, we’ve had some tremendous interest in positions and roles, even from guys at the next level,” Norvell said. “We’re going to evaluate all things just to be right.”
Norvell also said he would communicate with players who are committed to Florida State throughout the process in the event that coordinator hires are not finalized before the Early Signing Period in December.
Florida State will look to pick up its second win of the season on Nov. 23 against Charleston Southern.
