Scouts knew that 2017 Georgia ILB signee Nate McBride had speed, but his performance at Saturday’s state track meet may have exceeded their highest expectations.
The big, 6-foot-1, 223-pound LB not only led the meet with a time of 10.77 in the 100, but also won the 200 with a time of 21.71, and he anchored the 4×100 relay team in their defense of Class AA state title. The Vidalia Indians recorded a team time of 42.30 in the relay.
The event, which took place at Hugh Mills Stadium in Albany, Ga., was a bit of a redemption story for McBride, who missed last year’s event due to a hamstring injury.

Another Georgia signee from the 2017 class, CB Tray Bishop, also tore up his Georgia state track meet with a 100m time of 11.11 at the Class-A level:

Bishop was able to win the meet despite a minor knee surgery in February. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound DB won a state title in only his fourth race of the year.
The injury had a small effect on Bishop, whose time of 11.11 was far from a career best, but still good enough for a state title.
“I’m not thrilled with the time, but it will do,” Bishop said (via Rivals) after the event. “First place. I’ll take it.”
