After being suspended for first half, Georgia’s George Pickens ejected for fighting

Georgia is beating rival Georgia Tech, but Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate took a not-so-clean turn on Saturday afternoon.

Georgia WR George Pickens was suspended for the first half of the game for unknown reasons, but now he’s in danger of missing the SEC Championship Game next weekend, too.

That’s because, during the third quarter of the game, Pickens and a Georgia Tech defensive back went after each other on a play in which the Bulldogs scored a touchdown, each of them throwing punches. Only Pickens was ejected, though:

We’ll see what sort of punishment is handed out to Pickens, but this wasn’t a smart play by the freshman receiver, especially against a Georgia Tech squad that won’t be playing this postseason.

Keep in mind this is already a team that is missing leading receiver Lawrence Cager, so if Pickens can’t play next weekend, it will be even worse for the Georgia offense.

Add in a potentially serious injury to RB D’Andre Swift and it could be a rough week in Atlanta against a high-powered LSU team.
