In a surprise move, Georgia defensive lineman Bear Alexander is entering the transfer portal after just 1 season in Athens.
Alexander, who was projected by some to be a starter for the Bulldogs next season, became the 11th member of the Bulldogs team to enter the portal. He joins notable names such as Arik Gilbert (Nebraska), Bill Norton (Arizona) and Dominick Blaylock (still in portal).
BREAKING: Georgia DL Bear Alexander tells me he intends to enter the transfer portal.
The 6’3 305 DL will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Alexander, a former 4-star prospect, totaled 9 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 2 pass breakups, and 13 quarterback hurries last season as a freshman. He played well in the national championship game against TCU (didn’t everyone in Red and Black?), totaling 2 sacks.
Head-scratcher doesn’t begin to describe this decision from an outside perspective. Alexander was gaining a lot of momentum heading into next season after, especially on a defense like Georgia’s, a strong freshman campaign that ended better than it started.
