Georgia offensive tackle Andrew Thomas is out with an ankle injury Saturday; therefore, 5-star freshman tackle Cade Mays is getting his first career start at left tackle, per the SEC Network’s SEC Nation.

Mays (Knoxville, Tn.) was one of Georgia’s prized signees in the class of 2018. Mays signed with Georgia after the Bulldogs overtook the Volunteers for Mays’ signature .

The 6-foot-6, 318-pound freshman was rated as the nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle and the state of Tennessee’s No. 1 overall prospect, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. The recruiting service ranked Mays as the nation’s No. 22 overall prospect.

It’ll be interesting to see how he performs Saturday, but there’s no doubt he has as much talent as anyone on the Bulldogs’ offensive line.

Georgia and Middle Tennessee kick off at 12:00 p.m. ET from Sanford Stadium.
