After one season at Georgia, Lovasea Carroll appears to be considering continuing his college football career elsewhere, as he is now reportedly in the NCAA transfer portal.
A 4-star recruit as a running back, Carroll switched to defensive back in the spring. Carroll played in 4 games, making 3 tackles in the Charleston Southern game.
Entering the transfer portal allows Carroll to look at other options, but does not bind him to transfer out. If Carroll does leave the national champs, it will be interesting to see if he looks for an opportunity as a running back or sticks with defensive back. Carroll can take a redshirt for 2021 and would be immediately eligible at his next school.
On the 247Sports Composite, Carroll was rated 4-stars, the No. 8 running back and No. 116 recruit overall nationally in the class of 2021. Coming out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, the Warrenton, Georgia native had 23 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina and Tennessee. In June 2020, Carroll shut down his recruitment after revealing he considered a flip to UF. He early signed and early enrolled with UGA.
