Georgia is preparing for a rematch with the Texas Longhorns, this time in the SEC Championship Game. Ahead of that matchup, both teams have released an availability report.
SEC teams are required to release the reports every Wednesday before a game. On the Georgia side, the team has 4 players listed as questionable and 1 listed as out. Three of the questionable players are running backs, which raises concerns for the Georgia ground game.
Trevor Etienne, in his first season with Georgia, is one of the 3 listed as questionable. The RB has played in 8 games this season and has not seen the field in almost a month. Overall, Etienne has rushed 98 times for 477 yards and 7 touchdowns in 2024.
Branson Robinson and Chauncey Bowens are the other RBs listed as questionable. Robinson hasn’t received a carry since October while Bowens last played against UMass. Robinson has 73 yards and 3 TDs on the season, while Bowens has 58 yards.
With these 3 dealing with injuries, freshman Nate Frazier could continue to get the bulk of the carries. Frazier has carried the ball 123 times for 587 yards and 8 TDs. The RB leads Georgia in carries, yards, and TDs. Behind Frazier, the team also has Dwight Phillips Jr., Cash Jones, Wade Penn, and Roderick Robinson II as healthy options at the position.
Elsewhere, defensive lineman Joseph Jonah-Ajonye is the only UGA player listed as out. Fellow defensive lineman Christian Miller is the other Bulldog listed as questionable.
The Bulldogs handed the Longhorns their lone loss in 2024 when the teams first met. Now, these SEC foes will kick off for the 2nd time this season on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET.
