Georgia’s roster is shrinking ahead of the Sugar Bowl against Baylor as the Bulldogs have several players out for multiple reasons, most notably the NFL Draft.

But one player who is playing, and is admittedly 100 percent focused, is S Richard LeCounte, who has been a key player on the defense for a while. LeCounte was asked about his own NFL decision, and said he hasn’t received his draft grade back yet. It’s a decision he may make after the bowl game on New Year’s Day. He said he’s focused on Baylor.

“It ain’t even 50-50,” LeCounte said of his decision, via Dawg Post. “Right now, it’s 100 percent here, and 100 percent focused on Baylor.”

LeCounte said the Bulldogs will adjust without fellow S J.R. Reed, who leads the No. 4 defense in the country. Reed is a three-year starter at free safety, who made the calls on defense. Reed earlier announced he would sit out the game to prepare for the NFL.

“Can’t say we’re going to replace him or anything like that, make sure our communication lines are strong and get those guys lined up and be able to play football,” LeCounte said.

LeCounte said there are several other teammates “fully capable” of doing the job Reed performed.

“All those guys bring the same type of energy and enthusiasm for the game of football,” he said.
