JT Daniels, former Georgia QB, announces transfer destination

JT Daniels was Georgia’s starting quarterback entering the 2021 season. Eventually, injuries forced him into a backup role behind Stetson Bennett IV as the Bulldogs won the national championship.
Now, Daniels is on the move via the transfer portal. West Virginia, Missouri and Oregon State were believed to be among the finalists for his services this fall.
On Wednesday, he told ESPN’s Pete Thamel that he was transferring to West Virginia:

Daniels told Thamel that he likes the roster the Mountaineers have assembled for the 2022 season:
“Going up and down the roster, I feel like they have very, very good pieces everywhere,” Daniels told ESPN in a phone interview. “It feels like a great fit for quarterback. I feel like there’s a really, really, really good team that I’m going to step into and do my part to contribute.”
Can Daniels stay healthy? That will be the big question, as when he’s on the field, he can make all the throws you need a quarterback to make. We’ll see how he fares in Morgantown in 2022.
