Len’Neth Whitehead joined Dylan Raiola on Monday as another addition to the Georgia program.
Whitehead, a former Tennessee running back who’s from Athens, Georgia (Athens Academy) originally, shared on social media that he would transfer to Georgia. Whitehead missed last season because of an upper-body injury. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder, entered the transfer portal on Nov. 30 and has 3 years of eligibility remaining. The former class of 2020 recruit, who turned down offers from Boston College and others, will enroll at Georgia as a walk-on, On3 Sports reported.
In 2021, Whitehead rushed for 276 yards on 32 carries, his best game was against Missouri, when he rushed for 76 yards on 9 carries. In 2020, Whitehead was injured in fall camp and didn’t see any action.
Coming out of high school, Whitehead was rated as a 4-star prospect and the nation’s No. 11 ranked inside linebacker by the 247Sports Composite rankings. As a shot putter in high school, Whitehead at one point was ranked No. 3 in the nation in the event.
