Report: Georgia TE entering NCAA transfer portal
Kolby Wyatt’s college career began as a walk-on player for Georgia in 2017. Now, it appears he’s going to be leaving the program.
According to Anthony Dasher of Rivals.com, Wyatt has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. The redshirt junior will now begin to look for new schools to attend to complete his college career.
Wyatt was a defensive lineman for the Bulldogs at the beginning of his career, and he made his debut in Georgia’s 2018 season opener against Austin Peay, recording one tackle. But that was the only game he played in that season.
In 2019, Wyatt switched to tight end in the spring. He went on to play in three games last season, but he didn’t record any stats.
A 6-foot-4, 215-pounder, Wyatt attended Shiloh High School in Snellville, Ga., before heading to Georgia.
The Bulldogs have redshirt sophomore John FitzPatrick, graduate student Tre’ McKitty and true freshman Darnell Washington at tight end, so they still have depth at the position despite losing Wyatt.
