Stetson Bennett was front and center on Saturday at Georgia’s national championship celebration event, and had a chance to reflect on his storied career at Georgia.
“I keep trying to tell people I just did what I thought was right every day,” he said. “If you think you should do that, I think everybody should do it.”
He then pointed to his teammates, and took a moment to re-focus.
“Man, y’all burn us, y’all burn us,” he said. “Y’all kept telling us how bad we were and y’all couldn’t understand it. And we kept winning, and we kept embarrassing people, but y’all had other storylines. And it was 49-3, and it was 65-7, and it was everything and y’all didn’t want to believe it. Because you didn’t — it makes no sense to me. Screw it, we got 2 rings man, you know.”
