Former Georgia coach Mark Richt is now leading the Miami Hurricanes, but he hasn’t forgotten the people he met while he was in Athens.

On Sunday, Georgia superfan Rob Estes passed away after a battle with brain cancer, and after his death, his friend posted a message to Facebook that Richt had shared with Estes.

In the video below, Richt wishes Estes the best, talking about their shared faith and wishes the Bulldogs the best in the College Football Playoff:

“God bless you, and go Dawgs and go Canes,” Richt says at the end of the message.

It’s a shame Estes won’t be around to see the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, but his impact will be felt in Athens for a long time, as 247Sports details the foundation Estes started back in 2013:

“Can’t Never Could” is a Christian-based organization founded by Estes in 2013, shortly after being diagnosed with the disease that took his life. It’s one that contributes in various forms with scholarships, hardship assistance and more.

Estes touched the lives of many and will continue to do so through his foundation, and Richt will also continue to make an impact in all he does off the field.
