The Kansas Jayhawks announced late on Monday night that they were parting ways with coach Les Miles after allegations of past misconduct with female student workers surfaced.

Miles was named in the Husch Blackwell report, dating back to his time at LSU in 2013. Now, after 2 seasons at Kansas, he’s no longer the coach in Lawrence.

On Tuesday, Kansas released its settlement agreement with Miles. It was revealed that Miles will receive nearly $2 million in buyout money:

Giving Miles any money at all is potentially a move to avoid a lengthy court battle.

As The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel noted, based on the costs the Jayhawks incurred from firing former coach David Beaty to hire Miles, they paid approximately $4.5 million for 3 wins in Miles’ 2-year stint:

Kansas went 3-9 in 2019 and 0-9 in 2020. Who the Jayhawks hire next remains to be seen.
