Every Power Five football program now has a head coach as Kansas has finally replaced Les Miles two months after letting the coach go. Miles and Kansas parted ways after allegations were made public against the coach dating back to his days running the LSU football program.

The Jayhawks have made the decision to hire Buffalo’s Lance Leipold, who is regarded by many as one of the best coaches in the country at the Group of Five level. News of Leipold’s hire at Kansas was first reported by Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports.

Leipold has coached at Buffalo for six seasons and led the program to an overall record of 37–33. While that overall record may not seem very impressive, Buffalo has gone 24-10 over the last three seasons. Prior to landing the Buffalo job, Leipold won six NCAA Division III national championships at Wisconsin–Whitewater.

Leipold also led Buffalo to two MAC East Division titles in recent seasons (2018, 2020).

Kansas has announced Leipold has signed a six-year agreement to coach in Lawrence.
