Antonio Reeves, Kentucky forward, reportedly makes decision on 2023-24 season
Antonio Reeves is expected to return to Kentucky for the 2023-24 campaign, according to a report.
247Sports’ Travis Branham was first to report that news on Wednesday morning. According to Branham, Reeves moved into his dorm in Lexington on Tuesday night.
There had been some uncertainty over Reeves’ status in recent weeks. He reportedly enrolled in classes at his former school, Illinois State, this summer. Reeves also declared for the 2023 NBA Draft this offseason, but later withdrew from the process.
Reeves’ pending return is big news for a Kentucky program that is going through a major youth movement this offseason. The Wildcats are set to bring in 7 freshman from the 2023 recruiting class. As of now, Reeves is the only scholarship upperclassman on the roster.
Kentucky hasn’t brought in any transfers yet this cycle. However, that could still change over the coming months. Reeves’ return puts the Wildcats at 9 scholarship players so far for the 2023-24 season.
Last season, Reeves averaged 14.4 points per game and shot an impressive 39.8% from 3-point range.
Reeves has 1 year of eligibility remaining.
