Atlanta Falcons TE Jacob Tamme injured his shoulder a couple of weeks ago against the Green Bay Packers.
He’d hoped to return before the end of the season, but he announced on Twitter on Thursday night that he wouldn’t be able to make that goal happen:
(1/2) Unfortunately I had to have season-ending surgery this morning. Thank you to everyone who has been praying & sending support

(2/2) I love our team so this situation brings great disappointment. But this is my 1st surgery in 9yrs. I feel very blessed. #RiseUp

Fortunately, Tamme seems to be in good spirits. One surgery in nine years is almost unheard of in today’s NFL.
The former Kentucky Wildcat had 22 catches for 210 yards and three touchdowns this season.
