John Calipari shares amazing comment he made when advised to sub out Aaron Bradshaw

Aaron Bradshaw had a fantastic game Saturday for Kentucky basketball.
The 7-footer and former 5-star recruit missed most of the first month of the season after suffering a foot injury. But he put up 17 points with 11 rebounds and 3 blocks in Kentucky’s 81-66 win over Penn.
Saturday was Bradshaw’s first real action since suffering that injury preseason. Because of this, a Kentucky assistant advised Calipari to sub him out at some point during the game, just to give him some rest in a game that Kentucky had under control by the end of the first half.
Calipari insisted postgame that he told the assistant, “Are you out of your mind?! Are you watching this?” He later noticed just how much Bradshaw had seen the court.
“I played him 29 minutes?” Calipari said.
That’s high praise for Bradshaw, even if Calipari didn’t have to say it. It’s just Penn, but it’s a positive sign that Bradshaw can absolutely contribute and still allow the Wildcats to do what they do best, which is run.
Bradshaw moved well for Kentucky Saturday and showed signs of being a true rim protector. It’s uncertain how much he’ll play against Armando Bacot next weekend, but it’ll be a strong test for Bradshaw and these young Wildcats.
The game against the Tar Heels is set for next Saturday in Atlanta.
