Kentucky wideout Shamar Porter is moving on after 1 season with the Wildcats. Porter entered the portal on Monday when it opened, per 247Sports’ Chris Hummer.

Porter didn’t see the field for Kentucky this season behind receivers like Dane Key, Tayvion Robinson, Barion Brown, and others.

Porter was a former 4-star commit out of Nashville (Tenn.) Ensworth. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 43 WR and No. 6 Tennessee prospect in the 2023 class.

Porter had plenty of interest from the SEC. Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Alabama were interested.

Kentucky’s passing attack this past season was very inconsistent, ranking 11th in the SEC in yards per game (203.8).

On top of that, Mark Stoops fired receivers coach Scott Woodward in recent days after many of the wideouts struggled and weren’t able to take that next step.

Despite all of those changes, Kentucky has 2 wideouts verbally committed from the 2024 class. The Wildcats have 3-star commits David Washington Jr. and Hardley Gilmore on the way.
