As the college football season draws closer, programs around the country are discussing and, in some cases, implementing plans for mask requirements during games.
One of them is Kentucky, and at Kroger Field masks will be required indoors, on elevators, in restrooms and “crowded areas,” but not in individual suites, Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio reported. A final decision is expected this week.
This news comes just 2 days after Oregon and Oregon State announced that fans will need to show proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID-19 test. That followed Tulane, which became the first FBS school to require vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours to attend a home football game during the 2021 season.
The Georgia-Clemson game in Charlotte will require masks indoors following an emergency order from the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County mandating masks be worn indoors and at public gatherings to protect people from COVID-19.
