Liam Coen has been linked to his old job, but nothing is official yet. On Friday, Coen was asked about whether he is headed back to Kentucky.

A week ago, NFL insider Chris Mortensen of ESPN reported that Coen would be returning to Kentucky. Coen, currently with the Los Angeles Rams, was UK’s play-caller in 2021. He left for the opportunity to return to the Rams as offensive coordinator. The Wildcats have an offensive coordinator opening again after Mark Stoops dismissed Rich Scangarello.

Coen spoke to reporters Friday.

“No update right now, the biggest thing is focusing on the season,” Coen said regarding Kentucky. “That’s a conversation I’ll end up having with (Kentucky) at the end of the season. The biggest thing is trying to do right by this place and finish this season off the right way. That’s the main focus.”

While Mortensen’s report implied the decision was made, Coen said it’s a conversation he will be having.

“Whether I end up doing that or not, at the end of the day, these guys are professionals,” Coen said. “They know the deal. I addressed it with a few guys I felt like I needed to address it with. Everybody is really respectful about these kinds of situations in this building.”

Kentucky fans will be following the developing situation closely.
