Brian Kelly shares positive takeaways for LSU football through Week 4

LSU football didn’t have the best start to the season against Florida State. But the Tigers have rattled off 3 straight victories since and look good heading into Week 5 against Ole Miss.
Week 1 is always tough to take much away from apart from the extremes. Some were quick to write the Tigers off, but as LSU head coach Brian Kelly pointed out to Paul Finebaum Monday, the Tigers have improved moving forward with a lot of underclassmen playing valuable snaps. That’s big for the future of the Tigers program.
That was one of Kelly’s positive takeaways from the season thus far despite a bit of a sour start. Another positive? Quarterback Jayden Daniels. The senior QB has so far led the SEC in total passing yards per game. Only he and Vanderbilt’s AJ Swann have passed for double-digit touchdown passes this season, too.
“When you’ve got a quarterback in this league that’s playing at a high level – or any league – you’ve got a chance,” Kelly said Monday. Here’s more from Kelly’s discussion with Finebaum.

That aforementioned upcoming matchup against Ole Miss is quite the measuring stick game for the Tigers. Ole Miss may have just fell to Alabama at home, but the Rebels are still a top 5 team in the SEC this season with a dangerous QB in Jaxson Dart.
The top 25 bout will be aired on ESPN this Saturday and is set for 6 p.m. ET in Oxford.
