Ed Orgeron discusses LSU’s quarterback situation after loss to Alabama

LSU’s offense struggled in a 24-10 loss to Alabama on Saturday night, and late in the fourth quarter of the loss, QB Danny Etling was replaced by true freshman Myles Brennan.
Etling had taken some big hits from the Alabama defense, which may have contributed toward him sitting out the end of the game, but he also missed a couple of open throws.
Brennan finished the game 3-for-5 for 18 yards, but took a couple of big hits, too. Coach Ed Orgeron said Brennan will have a chance to get some work down the stretch and said the freshman will also have the opportunity to be the quarterback of the future in Baton Rouge (via The Advocate):
“I thought he looked good. Obviously (he felt) some pressure. Made some good decisions,” Orgeron said of Brennan, 3-for-5 for 18 yards. “Myles is going to have a chance to be our quarterback. I don’t know if he’s going to be our quarterback next year, but he has to get some experience and we just wanted to give him a shot.”
However, Coach O added that, for now, the plan will be the same as it has been all year, and Etling will get the start against Arkansas this weekend:
“We’ll have the same plan,” Orgeron said.
The Tigers will have a chance to get right offensively against a porous Arkansas defense, but all eyes will be on Etling as he tries to rebound from a less-than-stellar performance against the Crimson Tide.
