Like everyone else, Ed Orgeron was devasted to hear the news leading up to Christmas.
If you missed the tragic news, ESPN college football reporter Edward Aschoff passed away on Christmas Eve following a battle with pneumonia. He was only 34.
Following Aschoff’s passing, the reaction from his colleagues at ESPN have been overwhelming, as he clearly touched all that came into contact with him over the years.
You can count Orgeron among that list as the LSU coach was asked to share his thoughts on the recent news.
“What a shame. What a shame. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,” Orgeron said on Thursday. “He was a great guy, loved having him around. I read his stuff, thought it was outstanding. When I heard what happened, I was really sad.”
Aschoff’s final ESPN video segment featured LSU running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and his two fathers. If you haven’t seen it, it’s an outstanding look into the upbringing of the Baton Rouge native.
