Former LSU OL La’El Collins was released by the Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday. Collins was officially released from the PUP list and is now a free agent.

Collins attended LSU from 2011-2014. The Bengals moved him to the PUP list on Aug. 29 during training camp. He was still recovering from an MCL and ACL tear that he suffered during Week 16 of last year.

Collins played in 15 games for Cincinatti last season and started all of them. Before joining the Bengals, Collins spent his entire NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys.

It’s a shame that things didn’t work out for the veteran OL with Cincinatti. He helped bolster the Bengals’ offensive line and his presence will be missed.

The Bengals struggled in the season opener on the road in Cleveland. The offense was limited to just 142 total yards. Joe Burrow had only 82 yards passing in the 24-3 loss to the Cleveland Browns.

It’ll be interesting to see who the Bengals will bring on in Collins’ place.
