The Jamal Adams-New York Jets saga may finally be coming to an end.
The back-and-forth between the two has been seemingly been going on for months and after attempts to reach a long-term extension have failed, the star defensive back is looking to be traded out of New York.
This news was first reported by Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News and has since been reported by others around the NFL. According to Mehta, the Jets have not agreed to trade the star defender.
Adams’ current contract with the Jets runs through the 2021 season. In just three seasons with the team, Adams has been named All-Pro twice and has made two Pro Bowl teams after being selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of LSU.
During his time in the NFL, Adams has registered 273 tackles, 12 sacks, 25 passes defended, six forced fumbles and two interceptions.
At this rate, it appears the Jets are either going to have to hand Adams a rich new deal or trade the 24-year-old defender away unless they want him to sit out the upcoming season due to a contract holdout.
