Ja’Marr Chase wasn’t in much of a good mood after the Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Cleveland Browns 24-3 to open their season.

It’s understandable why Chase would be upset: the Bengals have established themselves as one of the top teams in the NFL, having advanced to 2 straight AFC Championship Games while playing in Super Bowl LVI. Meanwhile, the Browns, after breaking an 18-year streak of missing the playoffs in 2020, appear to be back to their losing ways.

Week 1 couldn’t have gone worse for the Bengals, though. Joe Burrow was 14-of-31 for just 82 yards and didn’t throw a touchdown. Chase had just 5 catches for 39 yards. The Cincinnati wide receiver, while being interviewed in the locker room, discussed being “pissed” because his team “just lost to some elves” — referring to the Browns’ Brownie the Elf logo:

We’ll see if the Bengals can bounce back to avoid a 0-2 start to the regular season. They host the Baltimore Ravens at Paycor Stadium on Sept. 17.
