ESPN reporter Holly Rowe has been showered with support while in her second bout with cancer. LSU coach Les Miles was one of the first to do so.

According to a story by Sports Illustrated, Miles has kept close tabs on Rowe during her struggle.

“Les Miles found out earlier than most because I was at LSU for a game and let people know I would not be at Signing Day because of surgery,” Rowe said in the story. “He called me five or six times the day before Signing Day to ask when I was going in and what he could do. Just unbelievable sweetness.”

Miles also spoke with ESPN’s Marty Smith to give his well wishes to Rowe on ESPN on National Signing Day.

Rowe announced her diagnosis the day before NSD on Feb. 2. Last week, she had surgery to remove two tumors and 29 lymph nodes.

Rowe has been with ESPN on a regular basis since 1998, mainly covering college football, college basketball and softball along with the NBA and WNBA.
