Les Miles’ son Ben announces he’s transferring from Nebraska

When Scott Frost took over the Nebraska program, an offensive rejuvenation was sure to follow.

Unfortunately for Les Miles’ son, Ben, that means that a fullback is no longer necessary, as Frost preferred an up-tempo style during his time at UCF.

As you can see in the tweet below, the younger Miles announced that he had been released from Nebraska, citing schematic differences:

Sadly, the fullback position is a dying breed in football these days, especially at the college ranks. Spread offenses and creative running plays are the new norm, while smashmouth football is becoming a thing of the past.

Where Miles ends up remains to be seen, but if a fullback can’t find a place at Nebraska, there may not be many places he can fit in these days.
