LSU DB Kristian Fulton fully reinstated by NCAA, effective immediately

LSU received great news for its secondary on Thursday.

While meeting with the media at his press conference, coach Ed Orgeron announced that defensive back Kristian Fulton has been fully reinstated by the NCAA, effective immediately. Fulton sat out the entire 2017 season and was expected to miss this season as part of a two-year ban for cheating on a PED drug test.

Earlier this summer, Fulton appealed the second year of the ban. However, the NCAA denied Fulton’s appeal after the organization had previously reopened the case.

Things apparently changed, however, now that Fulton will be back with the Tigers this season.

“He practiced every day here like he was a starter,” Orgeron told the media. “He never blinked. I’m so proud of the young man and I know our team is going to be elated. It’s the ultimate story of competing.”

Orgeron had no further details about when Fulton may make his on-field return for the Tigers, as he said he had just received the news before his press conference.

Fulton, who is a former 5-star recruit, played three games for LSU as a freshman in 2016.
