Malik Nabers receives status update ahead of New York Giants’ Week 5 game
Malik Nabers will be unavailable on Sunday when the New York Giants (1-3) travel to face the Seattle Seahawks (3-1).
The rookie wide receiver is still in concussion protocol, coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Friday. Nabers was evaluated for a concussion following a hard hit in the fourth quarter of the Giants’ game against Dallas last Thursday. He did not practice this week.
Through 4 games, Nabers leads the Giants in targets (52), receptions (35), yards (386), and touchdowns (3). He’s the only pass-catcher for New York with multiple touchdown catches this season, as quarterback Daniel Jones has gotten off to a rather inauspicious start.
Per Next Gen Stats, Nabers has produced 51.2% of his team’s total air yards, which ranks as the third-highest share among all NFL receivers entering Week 5.
Nabers was the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after a historic career at LSU. He became just the second receiver in school history to top the 3,000-yard mark in career receiving yardage, and produced the third-most yards in a single season in school history.
Fellow Giants receiver Wan’Dale Robinson was also limited in practice this week with a heel injury, so the Giants’ pass game could be even more worse for wear when it faces the Seahawks on Sunday.
