The last we saw of Grant Delpit on the field was him limping with an apparent ankle injury in the fourth quarter against Auburn. Trainers helped him to the sideline after a game in which he made five tackles with a pass breakup.

Brody Miller of The Athletic reported, “Still no Grant Delpit at LSU practice. Ed Orgeron said he expects him to play.”

Delpit is a top defender in the country, and a big part of the LSU defense. He’s one of just nine players in LSU history to earn unanimous All-America honors. Delpit is third on the team this season with 43 tackles, and also has an interception and four pass breakups.

Coach Ed Orgeron said at his Monday press conference that Delpit would slowly return to action this week.

“We do believe that he’s going to practice a little bit today, practice a little bit tomorrow and will be totally healthy for the game Saturday,” he said.
