Tyrann Mathieu praises new LSU defensive coordinator Matt House, calls on Tigers to buy in

LSU’s hiring of Matt House as defensive coordinator got a big seal of approval right after it was announced by the program.
House was most recently the linebackers coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, part of the staff that won Super Bowl LIV. It’s a return to the SEC for House as he was on the Kentucky staff for 3 seasons prior, first as inside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2017.
Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu, of course, is a LSU legend. Having spent the better part of the last 3 seasons with House within the franchise, the 3-time Pro Bowler had a message for Tigers fans, as you can see below:
? I’m excited for coach House and all of tiger nation! This man loves football & teaching! One of the best I’ve been around. This tiger defense will be well coached from day one! Let’s all buy in!!! FOREVER LSU! https://t.co/qjAdLpiFEz

As Brian Kelly continues to assemble his initial staff in Baton Rouge, House stands to be a major piece of the puzzle. The Tigers were ranked 10th in the conference in both yards allowed and points allowed per game in 2021.
