WATCH: Danny Etling discusses his performance vs. Alabama, battle with Myles Brennan
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s loss to Alabama, LSU QB Danny Etling was replaced by true freshman Myles Brennan.
Etling had taken some big hits, but he’d also missed a couple of long throws, so coach Ed Orgeron decided to give Brennan a chance.
On Monday, Etling addressed his play in the Alabama game and the battle with Brennan for the starting job, as you can see in the video below, shared by @Mike_Gegs on Twitter:

“I think I’ve done a pretty good job,” he says. “I don’t think I’ve taken a step back in any sense of the word. (I’ll) just continue to keep working.”
He also responded to coach Ed Orgeron’s comments earlier in the day, which involved Etling remaining the starter unless he struggled. Etling said that’s how things usually are:
“It just sounds like a normal thing to me,” he said.
LSU takes on a struggling Arkansas defense this weekend, so Etling and his teammates will have a chance to get back on track as they try to finish the regular season on a high note.
