Shortly after a big win on the recruiting trail, Mississippi State had another recruit back off his pledge to the Bulldogs.
Freedom Prep Academy (Tennessee) standout Tyler Woodard announced his decommitment from MSU on Monday evening. In his note, Woodward says that Mike Leach’s program will remain a part of his recruitment. Woodward’s announcement comes after visiting Georgia Tech this past weekend.

On the 247Sports Composite, Woodard is listed as the multi-position ATH but rated a 3-star cornerback, the No. 23 Tennessee product and No. 727 prospect overall nationally.
Woodard’s recruiting profile shows 19 scholarship offers, including Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee. Woodard pledged to MSU on April 13, 2021.
