Mississippi State basketball lands commitment from transfer guard

Chris Jans’ Mississippi State program has landed a transfer guard. Eric Reed announced his pledge to the Bulldogs on Saturday.
Reed was a First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection for the 2021-22 season. He led SEMO in scoring (16.1 ppg), free throw percentage (101-of-124, .815) and 3-point field goals made (71), while also logging 52 assists and collecting 30 steals.
Reed scored in double figures 23 times last season for SEMO. He posted a team-high 11 games scoring 20 points or more, including 2 30-plus outings. Reed had a career-high 35 points at Tennessee Tech on Feb. 17.
Reed, a Baton Rouge, Louisiana native, played 2 seasons at SEMO. In 2020-21, he averaged 11 points per game in 27 games, making 22 starts.
