Mississippi State had several players enter their names in the NCAA transfer portal after Ben Howland was fired following the 2021-22 season.

But, as new coach Chris Jans pieces together his first roster in Starkville, the good news is that a few players have withdrawn from the portal and will remain with the Bulldogs.

Per 247Sports, a starting forward has decided to stick around in Starkville for the 2022-23 season:

A 247Sports source confirmed Monday that Mississippi State small forward DJ Jeffries has removed his name from the transfer portal. The former 247Sports four-star prospect entered his name into the transfer portal in April but he officially removed his name from the transfer portal on May 12th (last Thursday).

Jeffries appeared in 34 games for the Bulldogs this past season after transferring from Memphis, starting 31 of them. He averaged 8.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.9 assists per contest.
