Eli Drinkwitz getting criticized on social media as Mizzou struggles vs. Florida
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers entered Saturday’s home finale against a reeling Florida team with a reasonable chance to pick up win No. 6 and clinch a bowl berth.
Instead, a Florida team that gave up 52 points to FCS Samford last week has held Mizzou to 9 points midway through the third quarter.
The problem? Mizzou QB Connor Bazelak clearly isn’t at full strength, and Drinkwitz’s play-calling has been suspect (and that’s being generous).
Tiger fans have been flocking to Twitter to criticize the second-year head coach during Saturday’s game:

Can Drinkwitz coach effectively in the SEC?

Broadcasters now openly wondering if Eli Drinkwitz should go to Brady Cook. Fans have been booing.

It's honestly incomprehensible by Drinkwitz.

Eli drinkwitz is not giving his team a chance to win

I hope Drinkwitz is okay with going down with Bazelak. Because he just might

The Drinkwitz hype seems to have cooled down a bit since the summer. #Mizzou

If Brady Cook or Tyler Macon go out there and aren't that good absolutely no one would be upset as Drink would be trying something new. In mean, I feel like at this point the worst case scenario is that one of them plays like Connor Bazelak… think about that.

The zone read doesn’t accomplish anything when your QB isn’t a threat to run. Florida’s defense knows this, and spends zero time accounting for Bazelak in the running game. What are we doing here? pic.twitter.com/XjZ01gncfa

Can the Tigers come back and win? Time is running out for Drinkwitz and the Missouri offense to turn things around.
