Eli Drinkwitz hammered on social media for awful end-of-half play calling and clock management

Eli Drinkwitz and the Missouri Tigers are on Rocky Top on Saturday afternoon for a game against No. 5 Tennessee.
When you’re playing a team as good as the Vols, you can’t afford to have any self-inflicted wounds. Well, avoiding those isn’t something this Mizzou team has done well in 2022.
Drinkwitz’s management of the clock late in the second quarter, leading to a field goal to cut Tennessee’s lead to 28-17 at the intermission, drew plenty of scrutiny from fans.
As you can see below, the Mizzou coach, who recently signed a contract extension, was ruthlessly trolled by fans and media on Twitter:
Not $6 million clock management from Eli Drinkwitz. Not even $6.

Not a perfect first half.
Dropped passes potentially cost us a few points before the break – thankfully, Eli Drinkwitz put on a clock management master class in the final few seconds and only got three.
Vols lead 28-17 at the half

Has anyone ever been more deserving of a wedgie than Eli Drinkwitz?

That's six million per year for Eli Drinkwitz.

Eli Drinkwitz with atrocious clock management. With a TO left, calls for a spike from the Tennessee 15. Could have called that last TO and had another shot or two at the end zone.

Eli Drinkwitz is truly and remarkably stupid.

That extension for Eli Drinkwitz did not include incentives for better clock management

Eli Drinkwitz's clock management was just bad on that drive

Eli Drinkwitz just pulled some Les Miles level clock management nonsense.

Eli “White Flag” Drinkwitz

Can the Tigers bounce back in the second half? If they’re going to close the gap with the Vols, Drinkwitz is going to need to improve his play calling and clock management in a major way.
