Missouri survives scare from Vanderbilt in overtime thanks to missed field goal
Missouri escaped with a 30-27 win over Vanderbilt in double overtime on Saturday night.
After trading touchdowns in the first overtime, Missouri had to settle for a field goal to start the second OT period. Vanderbilt then had to do the same after an up-and-down possession, but the Commodores missed their field goal from just 31 yards out.

It was a great effort for Vanderbilt overall. Diego Pavia threw for 178 yards and rushed for 84 more in the hard-fought loss. He also threw a pair of touchdowns on the night.
Mizzou quarterback Brady Cook did not have one of his better games. Cook threw for 226 yards on 37 attempts in this one. Instead, it was Tigers running back Nate Noel who stole the show with 199 rushing yards on 24 carries.
Despite the scare, Missouri is now 4-0 on the season and still looks to be a contender in the SEC this season. Mizzou is attempt to get to the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history in 2024. mi
Mizzou will be idle in Week 5 before facing Texas A&M on the road on Oct. 5.
