Missouri delivered their fans an exciting upset win on Saturday, a 30-27 victory over then-No. 15 Kansas State as Harrison Mevis drilled a 61-yard field goal with no time remaining.

It was arguably the biggest win for Eli Drinkwitz as the head coach of the Tigers, and certainly the biggest since his first with the program, a 45-41 triumph over 17th-ranked LSU in 2020.

Following the win over K-State, fans at Faurot Field celebrated with the obligatory field storming. And it will cost Mizzou as the university has been fined $100,000 by the SEC.

It is the first offense this academic year for the university. A 2nd offense will result in a $250,000 fine, with each offense following costing $500,000. The fine will be donated to the league’s fund for post-graduate scholarships.

Meanwhile, Missouri is 3-0 for the first time under Drinkwitz. It wraps up non-conference play against Memphis on Sept. 23, just the 5th all-time meeting in football between the two schools.
