It took a couple of years after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft for former Mizzou DE Jacquies Smith to find his footing in the NFL.

However, starting in 2014, Smith had a nice two-year run for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, recording 28 tackles, 13.5 sacks and forcing four fumbles in 27 games.

Last year, he was severely hampered by injuries, though, and had only appeared in one game so far for the Bucs in 2017. On Wednesday, the team decided to part ways with the once-promising Smith:

Fortunately for Smith, he should be able to at least get a look from a new team, as there are plenty of squads desperate for pass rushers.

If he’s healthy and can return to his 2014-15 form, Smith could be an impact player for whatever team decides to give him a shot.
